Corfu is one of the most famous from the Greek islands and definatley stands out from the rest of the islands thanks to its unique and incredible sceneries. Due to its central position between Greece and Italy, it was ruled by the Normans, Goths, Lombards and was the cause of many battles fought by the Sicilians and Venetians. It also has mythological links to Odysseus who fled for shelter to Corfu and last but not least it is also linked as being the birthplace of Zeus. Up to this day, many flee to Corfu for a good and relaxing holiday. Corfu’s beautiful and typically Mediterranean sceneries such as olive trees, citrus and grape vines contribute to some of the most fertile and most striking landscapes in Corfu.
