Lesbos, Greece Travel & Tourism Search
Lesbos is the third largest island in Greece and as many of its neighbouring islands, it offers distinct, raw beauty. Lesbos is one of the few islands in Greece whose towns and villages have been preserved and are very close to their original architecture. One will note that the landscapes are very dramatic here, you will find pine tree covered slopes and just simply bare slopes which meet crystal blue seas on the shores. All of these landscapes are characteristic to Lesbos. One will also recognise the excessive amounts of olive trees on this island, in fact olive oil is one of the main economic factors of Lesbos. It is however still produced using the old ways and traditions and therefore you are guaranteed nothing but true and authentic quality olive oil.

| Big, boring but beautiful Lesvos has arms stretched wide to embrace the package tourist market. As yet though, olive oil and ouzo are the more important commodities in the local economy. For the visitor, the attractions may not be as many nor the landscape as lovely as some other islands. But Lesvos is quietly impressive especially to those looking to experience the delights of more provincial Greek life. |
