| Established in 1963, the Mighty Peace Tourist Association was formed to assist tourism operators in the Mighty Peace Region (loosely defined as including Valleyview to Sexsmith, north to Fort Vermilion). The main goal of our organization is to increase awareness of the tourism possibilities in our region of Alberta, Canada and the World. The main tourism focus of our region is nature. The Mighty Peace offers everything from trail riding to fishing; jet boating to bird watching; world class hunting to gold panning - this region provides all-round outdoor adventure! We want everyone in the world to know what a beautiful part of Canada we live in.
The Association has enjoyed 42 years of successful marketing. We distribute pamphlets from all our operators, answer inquiries from around the world; produce all sorts of advertising; produce and distribute 40,000 Visitor's Guides, and attend vacation shows - all on behalf of our tour operators and municipalities.
We are reaping the rewards of our efforts, with large increases in tourism seen across the region. The word is out - the Peace Region is a hidden treasure! The low Canadian dollar and increased provincial dollars for tourism has given us another boost. The Mighty Peace Tourist Association looks forward to a very bright and exciting future.
