A summer trip to Flin Flon is like a trip to paradise. This area has a lot to offer the visitor no matter what they might enjoy. For the naturalist a walking tour of Flin Flon and a walk down the boardwalk are not to be missed. The boardwalk surrounds the south shore of Ross Lake in the center of town. As you stroll along, listen to the loons call from the bay, watch the muskrats swim and play on the shore or sit and watch the rapids break over the rocks where Flin Flon Creek enters into Ross Lake. Be sure to bring your camera! For the fisherman, any of the areas clear, clean lakes offer a challenge to try and catch the "Big One". The lakes in the Flin Flon Area offer walleye, northern pike, lake trout, rainbow trout, perch, whitefish and burbot (fresh water cod). Each year the city hosts a month long fishing tournament starting the first weekend in June and ending with the Trout Festival July 1. For the historian the Station Museum offers the visitor a glimpse at the past of our early settlers as well as a very good history of mining in the area. A walking tour of the city will give you a glimpse of some of the attractions Flin Flon has to offer. Come visit and stay a while.
