Newfoundland is situated in the North Atlantic. Newfoundland is rather different when compared to the other Canadian provinces, it lacks the galleries, tourist facilities and other luxuries.

. Botwood is a small town located in the Central region of Newfoundland, Canada. It has a population of approximately 4000. If you follow Route 350 from the Trans Canada Highway, you will come to the scenic historical port. Botwood has historically been utilized for its deep, safe harbor facility. It was used by Pan American Airways and British Imperial Airways as their base on this side of the Atlantic throughout the 1930s, two great nations used the town as a base for the world's first transatlantic flights. Later, the harbor became base for seaplanes during the Second World War by the Royal Canadian Air Force. The harbor continues to promote the community as one of the town's major assets. Abitibi Consolidated ships it's news print from the Grand Falls-Windsor mill, through Botwood, to international markets . Oil products such as asphalt, are imported and stored in large tanks. With a rich history and all the modern amenities, Botwood is one of the most attractive towns on the entire island. Take a tour of my site, see the town, and discover Botwood.
