Ontario is a province that millions have visited and fallen in love with. The Northern part of Ontario is not as frequented by travelers as is the South and is known mostly for the mining camps, such as the gold and silver mines in Timmins Cobalt and Kirkland Lake.

The City of Barrie has over 150 years of history. Curving around the shores of Kempenfelt Bay on shimmering Lake Simcoe, Barrie is in Toronto's back yard (one hour northeast). Barrie is central to an incredible amount of summer and winter activities: beaches with swimming areas, a multitude of golf courses and worthwhile Nordic and alpine skiing terrain. A newer healthcare facility, a Canadian forces base, and a college contribute to this thriving smaller city. Lovely green spaces, most notably on the banks of the waters, offer recreational opportunities such as in-line skating, biking and walking. Barrie has various entertainment complexes, as well as cultural venues.
