North Dakota is a US State otherwise known as the Peace Garden State, Roughrider State, and Flickertail State. Before becoming and independent state in 1889, North Dakota was a part of Dakota.

The state capital is Bismarck and the largest city of North Dakota is Fargo. The population of North Dakota is about 634,400.

North Dakota is the northernmost of the Great Plains states in the Midwestern United States and is bordered on north by Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The famous river, Missouri River, flows through the western part of the state of North Dakota, and forms Lake Sakakawea behind the Garrison Dam, which is a beautiful site for the visitors. The weather conditions in North Dakota range from scorching heat and humidity to bitter cold in winter.

Agricultural activity is largely dependent on rainfall in North Dakota, and the state has a rich harvest of wheat, barley, soybeans, sunflowers, and flax.
