Nunavut is a division of the Northwest Territories and means ‘Our Land’ in Inuktitut. The indigenous people of Nunavut are called Inuit and they have inhabited the Arctic for over 5,000 years. Their way of life is unique to and very different from the rest of Canada. A great tourist destination would be Baffin Island which is home to some of the oldest communities in the world.
