The sanctuary of Zabbar, dedicated to Our Lady of Graces is an architectural gem and has been a centre of devotion and pilgrimages for centuries. The majestic church was designed by the renowned architect Tommaso Dingli. It's long and varied history, together with its connection with the Order of St John is evident by the treasures showcased in the adjoining museum. The collection of marine votive paintings, some dating from the 16th Century, is the largest on the islands. A unique 17th Century model of a galley belonging to the Order, together with a large assortment of richly embroidered church vestments, lace, sedan chairs, silver oil lamps and other decorations make a visit to the sanctuary worthwhile.
