| Litomerice is one of the oldest and most significant towns of the Czech Republic. It is situated in a fertile lowland along the Labe (Elbe) and Ohoe Rivers. The Poemyslid family let (rented) the chapter house with a Romanic basilica built in the 11th century. In the Baroque period, the basilica was re-built as a bishop's residence along with St. Stephen's Cathedral. |
