This region has the beautiful Mediterranean coast sometimes referred to as ‘the warm coast’ and also a remarkable history. It has been inhabited by the Carthaginians and the Romans. It still has a very strong catholic influence and this is manifested in the holy week when the life size statues of the passions of the Christ are taken out to the streets. Murcia is also a very good destination for water sports with its ideal salt-water lagoons.
