Zaragoza is the main administrative centre of Aragon. Located in the Valley of Ebro, it stands 240 metres above sea level. Zaragoza was founded by the Romans about 2000 years ago and is therefore home to many important and famous monuments in Spain. Some of the attractions that should definatley be included in your to-see list include: The Basilica of Pilar, which welcomes thousands of Catholic pilgrims every year. This Basilica also hosts an exhibition of breathtaking Baroque art. Watch out for some paintings by Goya whilst visiting. Palacio de la Aljaferia is an impressive 11th Century King’s Palace and a beautiful example of Moorish architecture. Whilst visiting the palace, make sure you visit the charming Throne Hall.
