| Latsia is a typical example of a new Municipality, showing great development in the industrial sector. The first Municipal elections took place in 1986, after the positive referendum of 23rd February, 1986.
The history of Latsia is not very long, although there are antiquities in the Municipality dating back to the Hellenistic Period (325-50 BC). According to the census of the population in 1881, only 15 people lived in Latsia.
The Latsia Municipality is situated a distance of 8km south of Nicosia, and through Latsia pass all the main routes leading to the capital and all the free areas of our island.
