Chambery is situated in the heart of the French Alps and 325 miles southeast of Paris. It is a central transportation centre but it also boasts a number of museums and historical buildings; Les Charmettes is the country home of Jean-Jacque Rousseau located around 1 mile south of the city. The Savoy museum is also a very interesting visit, one can see the historical documents with regards to the house of Savoy. For the art fanatics there is the Museum of Fine Arts which houses some fine artworks.
