Dornbirn is the largest city in Vorarlberg and there are a lot of events that are held here such as the Dornbirn Fair which is held annually. There are numerous shops, cafes, restaurants and bars and you will find that many of the younger people tend to hang out here. Dornbirn is ideally situated a few kilometers from Lake Constance and Bregenz.
Vorarlberg is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination, especially for short weekend breaks. Vorarlberg is sandwiched between Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The first thing that I noticed when in Vorarlberg is the harmony of colours, you have the alps on one side with the snow covered mountain peeks, the green land and the beautiful blue skies. Another thing which is very notable here is the clean and fresh mountain air. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated by simply breathing in the air. It is the second smallest province in Austria.
Vorarlberg is also known for it’s winter recreations such as skiing and off track hikes. Despite it’s size and population (350,000) there are many things to do here. This province also hosts many festivals, art exhibitions, concerts and theatre all year round.
