| Kilkis covers an area of 2519 km2 and is not bordered by the sea. The land is mountainous only along its western and eastern borders, with its highest peak Mount Paiko (1494 m). The entire central area is a fertile valley, with rich waters. The rivers Gallicos and Axios flow along the region and on its northern border there is the large lake of Doirani. The climate is warm in summer and very cold in winter. |
