| Germasogeia is an important municipality in the Lemesos area. The church of Agia Christina, which lies in the centre of the village, also houses the Germasogeia Ecclesiastical Museum. It is a small church with a flat roof, the outcome of several recent interventions. Recently restoration work has revealed 16th century wall paintings.

| Germasogeia traces its name centuries back, and it is a composite word, madeup of two Greek words, namely 'iera' and 'mesogeia'. According to some'iera' which means 'holy' is a name that resulted because of the manychurches in the area. 'Iera' is a word often used as a first component for naming places, as Geroskipou (ieroskipou), Gerolakkos (Ierolakkos) etc. 'Mesogeia' which means in the middle of the island, is the second component, because of Germasogeia being far from the seaside |
