| Once a thriving textile town, Altrincham is now mainly residential. It is a good centre for local beauty spots including 18th-Century Dunham Massey Hall (National Trust) with its deer park. |

| DUNHAM Massey Hall in Altrincham is an enormous hall built in the late 17th and early 18th century.
Surrounded by a glorious 200-acre country estate inhabited by hundreds of deer, the hall was originally the home of the Stamford family, and opened to the public under the management of the National Trust upon the death of the last Earl of Stamford in 1976. |
