| Holmes Chapel is an attractive village in the north of the Borough of Congleton. Historically it has had many names, Church Hulme - meaning the hill with the Church - was its last name preceding Holmes Chapel. The centre of the village is still the Parish Church, St. Luke's, which has a history all of its own.
