The main town of Hyndburn is Accrington, famous for its football club and much more besides! Much of the town is now a Conservation Area, with attractive Victorian stone buildings, a wonderful market in Lancashire’s oldest market hall, and traditional specialist shops. Its history includes the story of the ‘Accrington Pals’, many of whom tragically lost their lives at the Battle of the Somme.
