Tata is referred to as "the city of waters". It is an ideal place for those who are looking for physical recreation in a quiet little town. It is located just 3 Kilometers away from the M1 highway which connetcs Budapest and Vienna, and 70 Kilometers from Budapest. One of the main tourist sights of the city is the Zsigmond castle, built in the 14th century. The castle is at the banks of the Old Lake, offering excellent opportunity for water sports and recreation. A small boat is available for sightseeing. Mills are plenty in Tata, and the old-style restaurants at the Old Lake offer an experience which one does not forget for a long time. There are several fishing huts and houses, parks for recreation and walking. The educational institutions of the city are very famous in the region, along with the temples and natural wonders, like caves.
