Flanders hosts some of the most historically important cities of Europe. This region is rich in historical monuments, cathedrals, architecture and many traditional squares.
The Flemish cities that make up the region of Flanders include, Antwerp, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, Leuven and Mechelen. There is a lot to see and to take in here, whether it is art you fancy or admiring historical landmarks or maybe just relaxing in one of the many trendy cafes you will find here. Flanders is well catered for visitors of all ages and is definatley considered to be one of the most significant and most visited region in all of Belgium. Flanders is becoming increasingly popular for weekend breaks amongst Europeans thanks to its central location and ever so exciting cities.
Once in Flanders you will find it easy to roam around and visit most of the cities as everything is relatively close by. Some of the famous events which occur in this region include the Flower Carpet which is held bi-annually in Brussels, the Diksmuide Beer Festival which is held every October and apart from these entertaining activities you can also attend some of the many religions and cultural events that are held here such as The Procession of the Holy Blood.
If you would rather a relaxing time on the beach, head up to the Flemish Coast where you will find a stretch of beaches and splendour. This region really does cater for everyone!
