Abruzzo, Italy Travel & Tourism Search
Abruzzo is a mountainous region stretching over the Appennines and has a coastline averaging 129 kilometers. This region contains many natural parks and untouched sceneries. The capital city of this region is Aquila, located on a high plateau makes the word Aquila (Eagle) even more appropriate. This city offers beautiful hill sides which make the perfect venue for bike trips.
Aquila is also a favourite destination amongst the skiers. It offers many skiing resorts and has rapidly advanced in the winter tourism industry over the past years.
For the summer tourism, Aquila offers vast seashore. From sandy beaches to the ‘Sette Sorelle’ (Seven Sisters) which are seven sea side resorts in the province of Teramo. One can also enjoy or berth (should you be traveling by boat) in the beautiful marina in Pescara.
