It is a peninsula situated in southern Greece and contains one of the world’s most popular cities – Athens which is also the capital city of Greece. Together with Athens, it contains amongst others the islands of Salamis, Hydras and Poros and the cities of Eleusis, Megara, Marathon, Laurium and Peiraeus.
