Central Greece is the Central periphery of Greece. It is most mountainous and is a region of geographical contrasts. The inlands mainly consist of green slopes and hills full of pines, poplars and streams. The temperature here is rather dry which contrasts to the mild temperature on the coast.
The history of Central Greece is unique and interesting, starting from the city of Thebes which was the inspiration to many Greek poets such as Sophocles and Euripides and ending at Delphi, which was the central worship area and is frequented by thousands of tourists till today. Central Greece was also home to many legendary and great battles which have shaped today’s history. Central Greece is a magnificent place to visit and it’s amazing tourist facilities provide a great holiday destination for both summer and winter vacations.
