A very interesting fact about the Peloponnese is that its had its geographical structure altered many a time. Peloponnese was once connected to the mainland a few times and yet separated a few times more due to geographical turmoil. Later on, a bridge was built which re-connected it to the mainland, however, in the 19th Century it was destroyed in order to make way for the famous Corinth Canal.
Some of the towns in the Peloponnese include: Patra which is the capital city, Tripoli, Kalamata, Pyrgos and Argos.
