Cantabria is an autonomous community and is spilt up into two main zones; the coast and the inland. The beaches have very beautiful cliffs which lead to some of Spain’s most unique beaches. Here you can find the Picos de Europa which is a mountain range, with a very active wildlife. You can still see live bears and eagles in the natural preserve of Saja. The capital is called Santander, a port city located in the north of Spain. The city is bustling with energy and has great cultural things to do and see. While visiting Santander it is also worth visiting the medieval town of Santillana Del Mar which offers medieval buildings and the pre historic caves – Caves of Altamira.
