| Stephen "Walker" Malone was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1951. He is the son of a legendary Irish walker, J.B. Malone, who pioneered waymarked walking trails around the country. Having studied in Ireland, Spain and Italy, Stephen was ordained a priest in 1982 and worked as a missionary within the jungles of Yucatan, Mexico. Having returned to secular life in 1988, Stephen worked as a journalist in Rome and then as an English teacher in Japan. |
