Beiras lies in the centre of Portugal and is a contrastingly varied region. This region is characterised by its two contrasting areas whereby you will find characteristic fishing villages, beaches and amazing sea side resorts to one side and mountains and plateaus to the other. The mountainous region is naturally astounding, with historic forests that blanket the mountains. Here you will find the highest point in Portugal, in the Estrela Mountain Range and the river of Mondego.

Beiras offers many activities to indulge in, such as rock climbing, canoeing and abseiling.

Thanks to the abundance of water in this region, it is also becoming increasingly famous for its spa resorts some of which are found in the town of Curia.
