The city of Eupen is the capital city of the East Cantons and is located only 15Km from Aachen in Germany and 15 Km from Maastricht in Netherlands. The population here amounts to circa 17,000 and the most famous manufacturers are cable, soap and beer. It is considered to be mostly industrial and also is the seat of the council of the German speaking community in Belgium. This city is ideally situated at the foot of a forest and surrounded by valleys and rivers. Eupen is more famously marked by the beautiful 17th and 18th century houses which line the streets.

Some of the sites worth visiting here include: St. Nicholas Church which was built in 1721 and was mainly built in Baroque style. It is definatley a church worth visiting.
