Goa state is the smallest in terms of area and the fourth smallest in terms of population. it is a part of the coastal country known as the Konkan, and is located on the west coast of India. Goa is perhaps the most visited state by foreigners on account of its beaches and other aquatic attractions! Major rivers of Goa are the Mandovi, the Zuari, the Terekhol, Chapora, and the Betul. The soil of the state is rich with minerals, hence is conducive to plantation. Goa experiences warm and humid climate for most of the year, for, it is near the Arabian Sea; however, May is the hottest month. Monsoons arrive in early June and last till late September providing Goa with its annual rainfall. Between mid December and February, Goa experiences a short cool season, marked by cool nights and warm days.
