Fujian, one of the provinces on the southeast coast of China, and is bordered by Zhejiang on the north, by Jiangxi on the west, by Guangdong on the south, with Taiwan on the east side. In a sense of government organizations, there are two provinces with a single name, as most of Fujian is administered by the People's Republic of China; however, the archipelagoes of Quemoy and Matsu are under the control of the Republic of China based in Taiwan. The province is traditionally described as to be 8-parts-mountain, 1-part-water, and 1-part-farmland. Climate of Fujian is subtropical, with warm winters. Places of interest in the province are Guanghua Temple, Gulangyu Island, Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou, Mount Tailao in Fuding, Mount Wuyi, a world heritage site; Nanshan Temple in Zhangzhou, the Matsu pilgrimage centers on Meizhou Island, and Yongquan Temple in Fuzhou.
