Hebei, a northern province of the People's Republic of China, completely surrounds Beijing and Tianjin municipalities.
Some of the major cities of Hebei are Baoding, Handan, Qinhuangdao, Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, and Zhangjiakou.
Major tourist spots are the Chengde Mountain Resort and its outlying temples, popularly known as Rehe Palace, consisting a palace complex, a large park area consisting of lakes, pavilions, causeways, bridges, etc.; a number of Tibetan Buddhist and Han Chinese temples in the surrounding area; Qing Dynasty imperial tombs at Zunhua; the Zhaozhou Anji Bridge, a significant example of pre-modern Chinese civil engineering, and is the oldest stone arch bridge in China.
