Sichuan, a province of the People’s Republic of China, also known as the land of abundance, is located in the central-western China. To the west, Sichuan is surrounded by the Himalaya, to the north by Qinling Range, and to the south by mountainous areas of Yunnan. Sichuan often has a heavily foggy climate, and several cities seldom get sunny days. The province is one of the major agricultural production bases in China, and one of the major industrial bases in western China.
Some of the famous tourist destinations in the province are Dazu stone carvings, a world heritage site; Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a world hertage site; Huanglong, a scenic and historic interest area; Jiuzhaigou Valley, scenic and historic interest area; Mount Emei, a scenic area; Leshan Giant Buddha scenic area; and Mount Qincheng.
